One quarter of the grapes are produced in our own vineyards, planted in 2004 in the desert of Valle Azul, where they are grown organically and biodynamically, and drip irrigated. The other three quarters of the grapes come from local producers with whom we have long-term contracts and whose vineyards are managed by our agricultural team throughout the year. These leased vineyards are on average 40 years old. Integration of these local producers allows us to contribute to our community’s micro-economy and in turn help protect the heritage of these old vineyards, which continuously risk being torn down, and the land used for other activities. The grapes are 90% Malbec and 10% Merlot. The harvest begins in February and finishes at the end of March.
Aromas of cool earth, dried mushroom and dark fruits follow through to a full body, tight tannins and savory finish. James Suckling
Floral, spicy and showing a touch of whole bunch character, it’s a fresh, juicy, well-balanced red that delivers a lot of flavor for the price. Tim Atkin MW
